Last week was All Black mania in New Plymouth, and really throughout Taranaki. Store fronts were decked out, our gym was a buzz with sights of players working out (there was a lot more lipstick being sported,) and town was alight with activity.
We were full and even had dear friends in town from Auckland for the game against France. The All Blacks had already won the first two games of the three game series – but that did not matter. The cheers were epic when local player Beauden Barrett hit the field with minutes to remain in the game and then went on to score a beautiful try.
We love living here. Truly love it. It’s weekends like this, and festive people like these coming to the region that I encountered on a morning run on the walkway that make it “Like No Other.”
