Day Six:
Take a quote from your favourite movie — there’s the title of your post. Now, write!
Love Actually – “Whenever I get gloomy with the state of the world, I think about the arrivals gate at Heathrow Airport. General opinion’s starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don’t see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often it’s not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it’s always there – fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, boyfriends, girlfriends, old friends. When the planes hit the Twin Towers, as far as I know none of the phone calls from the people on board were messages of hate or revenge – they were all messages of love. If you look for it, I’ve got a sneaky feeling you’ll find that love actually is all around.”
There is love, beauty, sweetness all around us. I get to see this on a daily basis as guests come to the House on the night before the wedding, on the night of their weddings, for their anniversaries, birthdays, nights away from children, on big adventures, to rest, after a long day of work. I hear amazing stories of how they came to our door, what they’ve been through in life or during their day. I am reminded on a daily basis how beautiful life is, how connected we truly are if we just stop and take the time to talk to those around us, and how love is wrapped around each of us as we go through our daily life.
I live thousands of miles away from my family and my life long friends which makes me gloomy at times- but some how being in this House filled with travelers, I am home and their love is all around me.
